A Presbyterian pastor says he doesn’t believe in God, but is still a Christian. He says that “beliefless Christianity” is thriving. Sadly, I have no doubt it is.
Here is his post on an Atheist website which outlines his beliefs.
So, the Bible is a human product, there is no God, Jesus was a historical person but nothing more, and there is no need for salvation because there’s no afterlife. But, hey, I’m still a Christian. Huh?! This is cultural Christianity at its worst. And apparently the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is okay with this. Sadly, that denomination left biblical Christianity a long time ago.
We need to be doing what this passage teaches and be aware of what it warns:
2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
